
Catherine Jane Ford, born 5 December 1969 is an English comedian as well as an actress and writer. She has been nominated seven times for the BAFTAs, an International Emmy Award, and numerous other awards for her performance in the BBC sketch comedy show The Catherine Tate Show (2004)-2007. Tate played Donna Noble in Doctor Who's Christmas special of 2006. She was then back in her role as the Tenth Doctor's frequent companion throughout the fourth season. [2] After the huge popularity of The Catherine Tate Show, Tate was a part of Joanie Taylor ("Nan") in the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015) as well as in the movie The Nan Movie (2022). In 2011, she started an ongoing role as Nellie Bertram on the U.S. version of The Office as well as a regular character until the show ended. Tate portrayed the part as Miss Sarah Postern in the BBC One sitcom Big School (2013-2014) and was the voice of Magica De Spell in the animated TV series DuckTales (2017-2021). Tate was one of six characters that starred in Hard Cell, a Netflix comedy series that she co-wrote with her husband.
