Rubi Rose Benton is an American-born Eritrean who was raised in Lexington. Her father is John Benton a half African American and half Japanese lawyer. The mother of the child is Eritrean and was born in Ethiopia. Her father is adopted so her biological paternal grandparents are also of Japanese heritage. Her older sister's name is Coral and Scarlette her younger. They lived together in Geneva for the entire year. She moved from Switzerland to Atlanta, Georgia in her sophomore year in high school. Georgia State University, where she studied political science. Her love for music grew Prince, Michael Jackson and Biggie. Marvin Gaye, Chaka, Marvin Gaye, etc. Megan Thee Stallion influenced her and so did Nicki Minnaj Cardi B, and Foxy Brown. Rose was initially famous as the lead in Migos' Bad and Boujee music video. In the same year she began appearing regularly on the Twitch stream along with Jamaican born East Coast Hip Hop Commentator DJ Akademiks. Rose started releasing music in 2019.
